"Picking up those hard smashes"

This multishuttle exercise is rather advanced. It takes some time to get it going perfectly and it puts great demands on the feeder as well as the worker. So don’t worry if you feel it is not working 100% percent the first time you try. When it is done a few times it is a very good way of practising reaction and fast controlled movements on defence.

Exercise
The feeder is standing on an elevated platform of some kind (chair, table etc) so that he can play overhead attacking shots like smash and fast drops (no clears). The feeder uses multishuttle playing every new shot directly after the worker has returned the previous. The worker is under pressure on defence and tries to get to all the shots and return it anywhere he wants and with as good quality shots as possible. It is important that the feeding is done in such manner that the worker must work in a very high tempo and that he has a chance to get to the shots. Use 10-20 shuttles.

Good luck!
